The six largest Swedish TV channels now on Sirius

5 Feb, 2008

Solna, February 5, 2008 - The satellite operator SES SIRIUS, an SES ASTRA company, announces today that from 13 February the popular tv channel Kanal 5 will be included in the Viasat entertainment package on Sirius. This means that the six largest TV channels in Sweden will be broadcasted via the Sirius 4 satellite. An agreement between Viasat and Canal Digital has made this possible.

This agreement means that also the fifth largest tv channel in Sweden, Kanal 5, will be broadcasted via Sirius 4. Swedish public service channels SVT 1 and SVT 2 together with TV3 and TV4 are already available on Sirius as well as the sixth largest channel TV6.

Hans Skarplöth, acting CEO, Viasat Sweden:

- We are very happy that we now have ensured that Viasat subscribers now can watch all six major and most popular Swedish TV channels. The inclusion of Kanal 5 in our pay-TV package is an important step in the development of our channel offering and is something that our customers have requested for a long time.

Håkan Sjödin, Managing director for SES SIRIUS comments the agreement:

- To get Kanal 5 onboard Sirius will strengthen our and satellite TV's position in the competition about the viewers. When the HDTV offering will increase, satellite will be the best alternative for all viewers that require many TV channels and with the highest quality.
