SES SIRIUS APPOINTS MANAGER FOR CEE MARKET DEVELOPMENT

KIEV, 1 September 2009 - SES SIRIUS AB (Sweden), satellite operator in Nordic, Baltic, Central and Eastern European countries, has announced the appointment of CEE Market Development Manager, Onno Zonneveld.

Onno was born in Haarlem, The Netherlands in 1969 and graduated from the University of Amsterdam in Central and Eastern European Studies. He started his career in 1992 as a journalist in the Moscow news bureau of the Dutch broadcaster RTL4, covering the October 1993 events and the Chechen war. Onno left journalism in 1997 to join CME as Ukraine country manager and subsequently became appointed Deputy General Director for Business Development at 1+1. He started to work at ICTV in 2000. While working as Deputy General Director he relaunched the Ukrainian channel ICTV and put it firmly on the road to profitability.
Onno returned to Russia in 2001 and joined MTV Russia as a consultant for network development focusing on the purchase of regional channels. Onno subsequently went to London to work for MTG as Director of Development for Ukraine and the Balkans. In 2005 he left MTG to return to Kiev and launch channel K1 as Deputy General Director. After this he was appointed General Director of Kino TV and CITI TV.
