SIRIUS on the road!
20 Nov, 2008
From 17 Nov to 1 Dec 2008 we will carry out our first roadshow around Ukraine to inform media, population and business partners the advantages of digital satellite TV.
The two-week tour will take place in 10 major Ukrainian cities, representing different country regions: Kharkov, Donetsk, Dnepropetrovsk, Zaporozhie, Simferopol, Nikolaev, Odessa, Chernovtsy, Lvov and Kiev.
In each city our representatives will give a brief presentation, showing advantages and potential of digital TV over satellite in a contemporary world. SIRIUS partners, company VIASAT (provider of digital satellite TV) and Strong (equipment producer) will also join the event to talk about the first licensed pay-TV platform in Ukraine and what business possibilities it opens.
Media will also have a chance to talk to our representatives from Kiev, to learn more about our latest communication satellite SIRIUS 4 and discover why digital satellite TV via SIRIUS is a reliable and an effective solution for Ukraine. Besides, everyone is welcome to get answers on topics such as: what is HDTV? Is it possible to connect several TV sets to one dish? What equipment do I need to get satellite TV? How should it be installed? etc.
Anna-Karin Modigh, Vice-President Marketing and Communication at SES SIRIUS says:
"Our company is a leading satellite operator that owns and manages SIRIUS Satellite System. We are happy to offer cost-effective broadcast solutions for Ukrainian consumers.
Digital satellite allows citizens in small cities and in remote areas to receive many national and international channels in superb quality. All Europe is going digital now and Ukraine is not an exception - switchover from analogue to digital is expected in 2015. We want to be sure that satellite is on the agenda as a vey reliable, future-proof and cost-effective platform.
Marketing research shows that many people still do not understand completely what digital satellite TV is and which pay-TV operators there are. This is why we are doing this roadshow to inform media, business and general public about advantages of satellite TV".
